Short notes on: Online Advertising, Mobile Advertising, Surrogate Advertising.






1.     1.Online Advertising:
Now-a- days online advertising is  not new as it has become daily part of Internet life .Online Advertising uses strategy which involves the use of the internet as medium to deliver marketing message to more and more consumers ,and to make them buy their product.

One major advantages of online advertising is the quick promotion of product information without facing geographical boundary limits. There are certain rules for Advertisers that how Advertiser have to pay to market their product online.

PCM: Cost per thousands
Advertisers have to pay when their product message exposed to audience.

CPC: cost per Click
Advertisers have to pay with each click by viewers or audience.

CPA: Cost per Action
Advertisers have to pay every time when consumer takes any action, means buy their product.

Examples of Online Advertising:

Google Search Ads:
Google ads are online ads that appear alongside the Google search engine result page when users search a key-word quarry on Google

Face book Ads:
Face book ads exist in many different forms. And it generally appears in the side column of Fb users’ page with headlines and Image.

Email Ads:
Emails Ads are advertisement sent to users via mails.

YouTube Ads:
YouTube ads are those which appear first when any users search YouTube video for their use.


2   2.Mobile Advertising
Mobile advertising is form of advertising via Mobile devices. Today mobile advertising is growing rapidly and it’s a enormous opportunities for both users and advertisers.

In broad sense, Mobile advertising that run through mobile appears on a mobile web page or within mobile applications.
It includes Smartphone, Tablets, and SMS ads, MMS (within games & Videos).
All telecom companies like Idea, Vodafone, BSNL, Reliance are using mobile advertising more than other companies, every day we receive message for their various attractive offers, and plans. 


3. Surrogate Advertising: 
Surrogate advertising generally seen for liquor and tobacco products of whose advertising id banned in some countries like India. So to sell their product company started advertising surrogate products like drinking water, CD’s, Soda, Cassette etc .In India there are many companies which advertising their product by using their brand name with other product like water ,soda and CD’s. 
Example:

 Bagpiper:
The advertisement of Bag Piper club soda is shown at the place of Whisky.


Imperial Blue:
The whisky is advertised by showing music CD’S in advertising as Imperial Blue music CD’S.



Officer’s Choice:                                                                            
The brand is advertised by showing mineral water and soda.

Note on: - CSR (Corporate Social Responsibility)






Corporate Social Responsibility is an act under which any company weather of district level, state level, national level or international level has to contribute in the progress of their workers family, local community or in the development of town. And company’s basic purpose behind it is to produce overall positive impact on society from which they are continuously getting benefits. In response to society’s contribution, it’s a moral duty of any business unit to contribute in society’s development in various fields.


Organization can contribute in development of society in various ways like through investing money in local education system, by giving opportunities to local people in their unit, by organizing various cultural programs or awareness programs etc.


For instance Reliance is active in social improvement; it has invested in education field in the bid cities of India. It’s not compulsory that any business organization has to contribute their service only but they can help government in spreading awareness about various daises, moral duties, born rights, etc. For instance Tata Tea and Tata salt both always comes with an advertisement which has moral or ethical message. In the same way there are some other companies which are in collaboration with other companies helping government in Building schools in all over India, for that they are giving some percentage of their profit to government like Rin, Tide, etc.

  Cocktail” a biggest  block-buster movie of 2012 has made me to re-think, every time it gives me something that never allow me to have peaceful sleep, but the waves of thoughts go in the same direction that is feminist reading of it. At some accent Movie is following the same structure of the movie ‘’Kuch kuch Hota hai”. But “Cocktail” has left the strong image of Ideal Woman in our mind. It has directly conveyed the massage while “Kuch Kuch hota hai”has has mild tone and because of that we cannot observe it or we need that keen eye-sight for it.

 

 Movie has very strong star cast Saif Ali Khan, Deepika Padukone, Diana Penty, Where Saif Ali khan is playing the role of Gautam who is Flirtious ,Casanova type Man. Deepika Padukone as Veronica successfully won our heart through acting and attitude towards life, a woman who likes to do party all the time and have no objection in ‘Leave in relationship’. She is modern woman with broad thinking and with womanly nature. Diana Penty as Meera also left strong impact on viewers, a traditional, cultured who knows cooking and can do prayers represents traditional Indian woman and her journey from the state of dependent to Independent. Their names are also suggestive but not in the case of Gautam. Meera suggests the traditional, shy and Sanskari while Veronica stands for modernity. While Our Gautam is not like Gautam Buddha who has sacrificed his family life for Brahmachrya but always ready to flirt with women.

 

 Last time when I was watching it, again it reminded me of the famous novel but Virginia WoolfTo the Lighthouse”, it again made me to think that how one woman consciously or unconsciously does not allow other woman to live respectful life in society, and how one woman has to change her way of life to get accepted by Man and society. This novel has two leading women character Mrs. Ramsey and Lily Briscoe ,as Mrs. Ramsey is dutiful and devoted wife for whom  her family and their desire is centre to all, while  Lily Briscoe is an artist and stanch feminist ,she is modern  women who does not like to be dependent on Man.

 

 Now as Mrs. Ramsey has set one parameter for woman to become “Ideal Woman “Lily Briscoe does not fit in this box and society could not accept her. This is what I observed in the Movie ‘Cocktail’ too.Where one who is presented as ideal does not allow other woman to earn respect from this male dominated society.



 

Here Meera (Diena Penty) stands for that Ideal woman who can do prayers, cooking, devoted and cultured, while Veronica stands for extreme modernity and boldness who likes to do party and fun with friends. Now have you ever asked yourself that why did not you like Veronica? Why we accepted Meera easily not Veronica??Why we do not have problem with Gautam who is changing the woman like clothes? Answer for all is our conditioned mind and society which never allow us to accept woman like Veronica who is far better than Gautam. This is really strange that we do not have problem with a man like Gautam who is Casanova and always interested in flirting, instead of it we appreciate and feel sympathy for him while Veronica who is far better than him in every aspect still not accepted by society. Why society always expect from woman that she should be pure, cultured and traditional. Why we accept man like Gautam and when any woman does it we do not accept her?

 

 What message movie has conveyed to society, it has clearly conveyed that if any woman wants to be accepted by Man than have to follow the tradition, have to do prayers and all that work? When Gautama’s mother came to their home He convinced Meera to act as her Girlfriend as he believed that Veronica is not ideal woman or not that traditional woman that her mother wants to see in her Daughter-in-law. It shows narrow man mentality that woman like Veronica is good as girlfriend but she is not marriage-material. And the ultimate solution for woman like Veronica is to change their life-style and thinking.Yes, when Gautam tells her that He loves Meera, she also tries to become like Meera. And she does even, she cooks for Gautam, prays to God and start wearing Indian Outfits too. So she does all this just to get accepted by Gautam.

 

 So, even today we believe that woman who lives modern life do not have character, Woman like Veronica is good as girlfriend but can never be marriage-material. This is how Man mentality works, how society sees the woman like Veronica. How one woman has set the parameter of “Ideal Woman “so high that it does not allow us to accept other woman who does not fit in it. Why we have concept of” Ideal woman “and not of ‘’Ideal Man “What can be parameter for ‘’Ideal Man”? If ever in future we will have it than what will be reaction of this male-dominated society??

Distinguish between Classified advertise and Display Advertise.


Introduction:

Advertisement is an interesting branch to study. It’s a wide branch as it includes various sub-branches. But I am concern about the two main types of Advertisement:  Display Advertise and Classified Advertise, the difference between this two advertising.


Display Advertise is kind of advertises which contains Logos, Photos, Cartoon Image, Symbols, etc. While Classified Advertise is kind of Advertises which is more common in News paper and Magazines, it includes specific written form only.


Display advertising uses various devices like news paper, magazines, Posters, public walls, Internet etc. While classified advertising is limited to news paper, magazines and Internet only.


Display advertising more creative, colorful and attractive as it’s used not only to attract consumer but also to aware and to inform the society, while classified advertising is more specific and concern only with fact and reason, it is used more for personal reason rather than for public.


Display advertises comes on any page of the news-paper and magazine, and even on any corner of pages while Classified advertisement always come on specific pages which is decided for classified advertisements. Display advertisement can be large and small as it’s in form of Logo, symbol, and pictures while Classified advertisement always comes in small and decided space which is given to it for instance notes related to Death, matrimonial notes, Name changing notes, etc.


Display advertise appeals to public or to more consumer or people while classified advertisement as it’s more used for personal reason, it appeals to specific person, group of people ,specific religion, caste, etc.
